August 28th update.  380 cars delivered.  That leaves one married pair  yet to be delivered.  Note at bottom of status page that 2 single level cars are now in testing and comment that they are undergoing other tests.  Could it be that some singles might be bar cars ?   Note also all singles will be delivered between September and November.

My understanding is that they will be passenger cars, but were ordered so Metro North had a quick way to create bar cars in case politicians started making a fuss about their elimination.

391 cars now delivered.   all 380 married cars now delivered and 11 single cars delivered.  One married pair not yet accepted.  For some reason no singles accepted.  Note 2 singles have been at New Haven for almost 3 months.  Maybe MNRR has not decided how the singles are to be used.

You MNRR new Haven line riders have the new cars reduced overcrowding ?

The S cars will not be bar cars ever, they have nothing in them like bathroom or water provisions, they are simply coaches with seats, HVAC and lights, no propulsion, no dynamic brake.

Final report.  All M-8s now conditionally accepted by MNRR.  Report also states some M-2s will be kept in reserve.  M-4s &  M-6s triplex removed from service.  Anyone ridden lately noticing just M-8s ?
