If there is anyone on here from Dallas please speak up..

The new proposed street cars for downtown will have to be recharged every 5 miles,my question is,How many times will they have to stop and recharge to get from one end of the "downtown business district" to the other in any direction? Is'nt it more than 5 miles across in any direction?
Although I have not seen recently the proposal for the Dallas street cars, the game plan, as I understand it, is to run the cars from an extended connection point with the McKinney Avenue Trolley across the Houston Street viaduct to Oak Cliff. Assuming this is still the game plan, the distance is less than five miles.

Part of the plan is to re-route the McKinney Avenue Trolley off of St. Paul Street and onto Harwood Street., although I will believe it when I see it. They have been talking about this change for more than 10 years, but nothing has come of it. Same old problem! No money!

You note implies that they are planning to use battery powered cars. This is a new one on me. I was under the impression that they planned to string overhead wire, but I have not followed the developments that closely.
