It's too bad that we did not have sophisticated tunneling technology many decades ago. Had it been available, we might have been able to opt for tunnels instead of many of the ugly bridges that dot the landscape. But that is a different story.</SPAN></P> <P><SPAN style="FONT-SIZE: 10pt; FONT-FAMILY: Arial">How much will the Seattle light rail system cost?</SPAN></P> <P><SPAN style="FONT-SIZE: 10pt; FONT-FAMILY: Arial">How many miles of trakc will be built?</SPAN></P> <P><SPAN style="FONT-SIZE: 10pt; FONT-FAMILY: Arial">Who will supply the train sets?</SPAN></P> <P><SPAN style="FONT-SIZE: 10pt; FONT-FAMILY: Arial">What is the projected number of riders?</SPAN></P><SPAN style="FONT-SIZE: 10pt; FONT-FAMILY: Arial"><?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /><o:p></o:p></SPAN><SPAN style="FONT-SIZE: 10pt; FONT-FAMILY: Arial">If the Seattle light rail system it is anything like the Dallas and Charlotte systems, the cost per mile will be staggering. And at the end of the day, the per cent of people in the area who use it will be relatively low. In <?xml:namespace prefix = st1 ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags" /><st1:City w:st="on"><st1:place w:st="on">Dallas</st1:place></st1:City>, for example, less than three per cent of the population uses the light rail system.<SPAN style="mso-spacerun: yes"> </SPAN>I have not seen the number for <st1:City w:st="on">Charlotte</st1:City>, but my guess is that they are not much different from <st1:City w:st="on"><st1:place w:st="on">Dallas</st1:place></st1:City>.<o:p></o:p></SPAN>
