Metra BNSF Line service extension now in the planing stages...
Posted by Chris30 on Saturday, March 28, 2009 7:11 PM

The extension of the Metra BNSF service from the current end of the line in downtown to Aurora to Oswego is now officially in the planing stages as an engineering firm has been hired. According to the attached news story it should take around two years to complete the plans. Oswego currently has a park-and-ride located at Orchard Road that will become the new station location. Don't get use to Oswego being the end of the line. Future plans include an externsion to Yorkville and a new station between Aurora and Oswego in Montgomery.

From prior post:  " Oswego currently has a park-and-ride located at Orchard Road that will become the new station location."

Not to be too contentious, but what mode of transportation serves the existing Park-And-Ride facility?  Carpools?  Express buses?    -  a.s.

BNSF has the best Metra service, but too bad the track and roadbed ride so poorly.  Rides like a buckboard!
