Suicide on Northeast Corridor
Posted by ns3010 on Tuesday, January 13, 2009 6:59 PM

Last night, a man commited suicide on the Northeast Corridor in Linden, NJ. The man laid under the platform until the train arrived. During the station stop, he laid his head on the rail. When the train pulled away, the man was killed, and the crew was not aware that anything had happened. Not much is currently available, as officials have not confirmed exactly when the incident happened.

By the way, it was a New Jersey Transit train who struck the victim.

I will provide more info as it becomes available. As I said before, the whole thing is still under investigation. A train crew reported a body on the tracks sometime after the incident. Without anyone being aware of anything abnormal at the time, there is no confirmation as to what happened, although NJT officials have ideas.
