Don't forget the waterfall derailment and the Glenbrook disaster where the indian pacific slammed up the back of an inter-urban passanger train. Both were several years ago but quite tragic indeed.
I'm sure you've heard, they charged the trucky with one count of Neglegant driving. Just yesterday.
A heavy truck skidded into a passenger train on Tuesday 6 June 2007 in the Australian state of Victoria. As of 4:30pm on Wednesday afternoon 11 had died and 22 were injured in spite of the metal carriages in use. An enquiry is planned and state Premier Mr. Brack says that no one should jump to conclusions. The crossing was equipped with flashing lights and a bell, but not boom gates. This is probably the worst rail accident in Australia since the Granville disaster in suburban Sydney many years ago.
