A quick google search shows that it was rebuilt with a new engine and low nose in 1964 and scrapped by the Kankakee, Beaverville and Southern in 2004. If I had to guess, the crews didn't like it because it had a high short hood and they were used to the RS2/3.

Hi,

Looking for some information.  As I understand, GBW had one RS11 acquired in the late '50s.  It was the high nose version that bore, IMO, a passing resemblance to the EMD GP7/9.  Apparently it was not popular with GBW crews for a variety of reasons.  At some point it was rebuilt with a low short nose and revised cab, new engine, and other changes.  In one of the photos I have, the low nose and cab look a lot like the nose and cab Alco used on the C420.  That's about all I know.  Can anyone point me to a good article or provide some background here as to when it was modified, disposition, etc.  Thanks so much!

Bruno
