Brooks was one of the 'senior' plants in the merged Alco operation, and built locomotives up to 1934 (when the plant was renamed 'Alco Thermal Products' and I believe retasked to making heat-exchange equipment, something that became an increasing priority at Alco after the '40s.  I believe the ex-Brooks Works Plant in Dunkirk was closed in 1962.

and the plant was bought out by ALCO and I am sure that they used it to make parts untill the 1970s? I just got out of Brooks Hospital here on a excursion diversion.
