IT appears that the GP2000 was eight version of the GP59 whereas the GP68 was of the SD70  class. I don't know what would have changed betweenthe two locomotives. Gary

Are the GP68 and the EMD GP2000 the same.Both have 8 cylinder 2000 hp 710 engines and Norfolk Southern is the railroad which had an idea about ordering such a locomotive. Gary
