Our operating instructions do not contain a requirement to secure unused hoses. From photo evidence it appears that CP also does not require their use.
I make a point of securing hoses with the dummy couplings in winter, so ice and snow do not fill the hose.
Zug - wasn't NS trying to discipline crews a few years ago for not securing unused hoses? I heard something about that on another forum.

There are some photos linked in the “CP Rebuilds” thread.
Any photos?
The first 4 SD70ACU finally arrived on CP. Locomotives CP7000 - 7003 were delivered this morning by CN at Dubuque, IA and will be hauled to St. Paul, MN where they will be setup and then released for service. Core locomotives for the second batch are going the other way to CN at Dubuque and include the former UP 3561 and 3567, which were purchased to make up the required 30 cores.
