I'd immediately throw in Al Krug's site, wherever it is now, and the various Don Strack pages at utahrails.

At one time, Wolf Fengler and some other 'suspects' were working up a general introduction to good advanced modern steam practice for CSR/SRI; those might be of interest to folks interested in starting to learn about the 'tech' of reciprocating steam.

Not sure if this will be of interest, but maybe we could use this thread to post interesting and/or factual articles regarding locomotive operation. I thought these sites were quite interesting.

Railroad in general: http://www.railway-technical.com/

Locomotives: http://www.railway-technical.com/trains/rolling-stock-index-l/diesel-locomotives/

Looking forward to seeing the sites you add.
