Does the  locomotive still have its EMS builder's plate?   In any case, do contact Electro-Motive Diesel Coporation and include all data you can.   I think you will find them very cooperative. and they may even have records of all modifications made by the railroads, and they do try to keep very complete records.   The address is:

Engineering, Electro-Motive Diesel Corporation

9301 West 55th Street

La Grange, IL 60525

Use the most official looking letterhead you can!

Who was the original owner?  If it came to Amtrak from Conrail, then you might have some luck contacting Conrail in Mt. Laurel NJ.  I beleive they still have all the old microfische from the "big Conrail" days.

Amtrak electrical schematics

We own a former Amtrak owned GP7, numbered 774. The locomotive is equipped with pneumatic contactors and reverser. We are considering rewiring it and would love to find the original schematic. I haven't had success in locating a database for Amtrak locomotives so I could use some help.

Thanks
