I suspect it was canabalized to keep other units running.  Don't forget rock throwing has a major following in the east.

Thought I would share some shots from the Altoona dead line, taken on December 30, 1978.   First, C628 #6743, which seems to have lost it's windshields.  I wonder if these were busted out, or re-used?
