Engine Type Question
Posted by spikejones52002 on Sunday, February 10, 2008 4:06 PM

The other day I was watching the Chicago Il. 22:00 News. They were discussing the delays caused by Snow storm.

They news crew was down in one of the Metra stations downtown.

A Metra train was moving and the engine passed.

It looked to have wrap around windsheld like a bay window.

What type was it?

Sounds like you saw a new MP-36, made by Motive Power.

The Mar RMC has an article about them, with pics and specs. If you can find a copy, see if that is the loco.

   Hope this helped.

Yes the hours sucked however the Producer shippers receviers brokers were worse.  Then you have traffic in Chicago New York City Boston Washington ATLANTA HELL ANY OF THE BIG CITIES.  About the only things that made it worth it was I got PAID TO RAILFAN AND I will be honest the SEAT COVERS in some of those cars would make a POPE leave the Vatican behind.  Oh to be SINGLE and 23 again.  The fun part was having a owner of the company that paid you solo mile rate when you were running like a team.

Always at war with those that think OTR trucking is EASY.
