None of the UP Heritage engines are AC's and since the UP uses AC's on its coal trains you won't see them on coal trains.

So far as of August 31, 2007, the Heritage units have been used in UP service on UP tracks.
Some of them have been used for promotional services also like Operational Lifesaver here in California and other high visibility type service. Everytime they are used for promotional service, they get washing and cleaned up so they do look fairly good all of the time. We got to see four of them here last month within the same week in and out of California. Only the C&NW and D&RWW units have not been past Salt Lake City. The 4141 ( GH Bush unit ) is in California now. It is not a Heritage unit but looks like Air Force one in the Blue scheme and is very attractive.
As far as I know, they have been used on high priority trains, not coal service which would take them off line to the destination.
