James was always up there for me...favourites though were the Scottish twins, Donald and Douglas (with George Carlin voicing)!

1) The CPR AC4400 in the diesel engines-the nudge that got me into HO modeling again
2) The DM&IR 2-8-8-4 Yellowstones in steam-just awesome
3) The german BR 51, 2-10-0 Decapod in steam-seen them operate as a kid
4) The german E94 in electric power-breakthrough in electric power technology and beautiful
To sum it all up the AC4400 rule.

"If you need a helping hand, you'll find one at the end of your arm."
It's gotta be the Alaska Railroads GP-49's. These babies could pull anything they put behind them, They had lower gearing, stubby powerful looks, operated in the coldest rairloading places in America and had a plow that only EMD could love.
Right behind that would be Heber Valley ex;UP 618. She rides well, works hard, and is easy to steam. She only gave me grief one time on the climb out of Provo Canyon when some kids had covered the track with weeds. Nearly sucked the fire right off the grates and out the stack, but we recovered. She did me well.

HI,
I AM TRYING TO LOCATE A DETAILED INTERIOR FLOOR PLAN FOR A PRR GG1 LOCO. I HOPE YOU CAN STEER ME IN THE RIGHT DIRECTION.
THANK YOU,
PRR GG1
WSOR 3801,
There's no doubt about it that the 40-2's are going to be around longer than the 49's, but they have had a different roll the whole time they have been up here. The 49's where set up special for hauling coal south to port. They did allot of slow go lugging and they had a special call. They could creep when everyone else would have shut down. They just had that special under-dog look to them.
I do like the new paint although I would have loved to see them back in black! Thank goodness this is a personal favorite response. If we all had the same favorite, we would agree with ME....ah alright then, Thanks for the fun!!

Don't know of any floor plans short of electrical and mechanical schematics . There are many preserved GG1s and the best bet would be to visit one .

The SD50-2 is a CSX rebuilt SD50 derated to 3,000HP (like an SD40-2).
