Reading NW2 question
Posted by dzamzow on Monday, June 25, 2007 7:47 PM

I'm painting and decalling a BLI NW2 for a friend.  The only pictures I have of prototype units are three-quarter front views.  There is small lettering beneath the numbers on the cab.  Can anybody tell me what those numbers are?  By the way, he has supplied me with Microscale decal set # 87-691.  Is there a separate set for switchers that might have the appropriate decals and diagrams?  I did not find anything on the Microscale web site.

Thanks very much for any help you can give.

They are most likely the Reading class designation, but I can't find any clear pictures.

Thanks, Nick.  Do you have any idea what that model designation might be?  Was it the manufacturer's model or the Reading's designation?  There are two lines so I suspect one line might be horsepower or something similar.  Do you know if that might be the case?

Thanks for your help on this.

It would be the Reading designation - what exactly it was, I forget.  The second line is most likely the locomotive's assigned terminal.
