Hello All ;
Here's a video showing a veteran a Alco burbling around the tough curves and grades of the Spanish 'Central de Aragon'. It's a Renfe Veteran, built in the second half of the sixties (locally by La Naval, under license from Alco), based on the 'DL500' or 'FPD-9', and today belongs to a private operator. The only thing that seems to need some sort of fixing is the horn (it's in really bad shape)
Sounds good, and looks very well cared for. No turbo lag smoke or dirty carbody. And it doesn't have the usual RENFE TRAXX graffiti!
Thanks for sharing.
Hey, Don Colangelo "The ALCO Doctor" says ALCOs are just fine as long as you take care of them.
