Viewing several pictures of the rear of an AMD-103 diesel locomotive, I see two(2) white headlights above the road number; two(2) red lights under the road number and two(2) other cavities/items also below the road number. What is this cavity/item and its purpose??? Thank You...
I think you are describing the sand fill. Sand is used for greater traction.
