BNSF's new ES44C4 #8210 doesn't have the white dome on top of the cab like previous BNSF GE's.  It looks like the white dome has been replaced by several box-like protrusions.

That's the new PTC antenna array.

Run an engine through a torrent, back when antenna cables and air conditioner's drains were punctured through the cab ceiling.....you had to put on your slicker and boots, waders....get the concept?

The dome probably diminished, if it didn't, eliminate, those floods.

Just guessing, that better waterproofing allows the individual antennas to exist not shielded by a dome, maybe the dome/shield diminished the efficiency of the transmitters/receivers?
