Is there any old F units (or E for that matter) that work short lines in America hauling freight? I think the Carolina southern had a few but they were recently sold. Is there any others out there?
Peoria & Western is one line that uses them for freight.
There is a F unit working the ex BN ex NP P&L branch from Marshall Jct. south towards Pullman. It is painted in SP Black Widow scheme. Works along with a ex Watco GP30.

There are now three F's in Texas painted in the Santa Fe Warbonnet, two new ones are at the Galveston Railroad Museum.
The Gettysburg & Northern RR in southern Pennsylvania has a F unit that is used several days a week in freight service in the company of a chop-nose Geep.
"Peoria & Western" was never a real railroad. The Keokuk Junction Railway acquired TP&W's West End in 2005 with the intent of operating it as the Peoria & Western Railway. It led to confusion in a case involving a proposed track leasing agreement with BNSF (which was killed by shipper opposition). In 2011, FP-9A's 1750 and 1752 were re-lettered Keokuk Junction Railway.
Switcher#326Ya there's quite a few they just had cosmetic surgery that's all. Look up EMD CF-7
The CF7's were a bit more than cosmetic surgery: new frame since the carbody no longer carried part of the frame load, new cab and hood, probably some internal updates, etc.
I drove thru Monte Vista, Colorado last November and saw a very nice looking F unit switching freight cars. It belonged to a shortline, the name of which escapes me at the moment. It has a very attractive dark brown or maroon color scheme and the unit looked great.
Since I live in Colorado I will have to check that out. Thanks for the tip

Sounds like San Luis & Rio Grande, which has some ex-MBTA (ex-GM&O) F units in service.
NSDash9.com says that NS has acquired 3 F7u's from NRE. They are former CN units. Another pleasant surprise from my former employer!
