Cab ride
Posted by Mario_v on Monday, July 2, 2012 2:23 PM

Hello all ;

Here's a cab ride video entering Madrid the 'high speed' way. If you pay attention to the lateral signals, it will be possible to realise that things did not work quite the way it was expected

Can you explain what the problem was? Looks like the cab signal told them to stop a the station -- which they did. I don't see a problem.

The cab signal is in perfect order and showed all the proper indications. The problem was that the so called 'lateral' signalling system was not. If it was working properly the wayside signal prior to the one that shows an indication of red+white (restricted speed, the track ahead is ocupied by rolling stock) shouldn't be displaying a green indication (proceed, free track ahead). Luckilly the train was operating in fully automated circulation, therefore being governed only by the onboard 'cab signal' system
