I wonder if there are any Canadian Pacific experts out there who can help with a paint scheme question?I know that the Action Red scheme started to be applied in 1969 and that the maroon and grey (Script) scheme gradually disappeared from most locomotives during the 1970s. However, I'm trying to find out whether any Canadian Pacific GP35s retained the maroon and grey scheme as late as 1972 or 1973 and, if so, which ones? The latest photo of a maroon and grey GP35 I can find is 5023 in July 1969 (but it was red by December 1974).This is for a modelling project - any help would be much appreciated!
Checking my own photographs, it would appear they all got repainted quite quickly. I don't, however, have particularly complete coverage of them in the era so I suppose it is possible that one survived a little longer. But on the whole I think it unlikely by 1972. They probably all came due for major overhaul about the same time soon after the introduction of CPRail.

As a CP Employee I have never sen any photo's of the GP35's or our 5000's in anything other than the Action Red scheme .I know that the our business train id painted in the maroon and gray and also all roster photos I have are in Action Red .I hope this helps .
Thanks very much for the replies. The suggestion that all the GP35s were due for overhaul at about the same time and therefore got repainted quickly seems, unfortunately, quite convincing! The photo I mentioned is from rrpicturearchives.net and shows 5023 in maroon and grey at Sudbury Ontario on 26 July 1969.Thanks again.David
