I went by Delores locomotive facility, in the port of Los Angeles, yesterday on an eastbound train and saw an unpatched SP engine, the 177. It appeared to be a DASH-9 but not sure. does anyone know of any other unpatched SP or DRGW engines out there?
Thanks
Pictures on the web claim that it is a AC44CW.

Thanks i wasn't sure what model it was. But it was nice seeing an unpatched engine like that.
I captured a UP repaired, but un-patched SP 187. Im assuming also an AC44CW as well, ordered in the same batch as 177. Irony was with the crew that day however as SP 187 arrived in Nampa Idaho dead in tow.
There are still a fair number of unpatched SP locomotives running around. Most of them seem to be AC4400CW's in the 100-378 series.
This website has all the information you need. http://www.thedieselshop.us/UP.HTML Looks like there are 34 un patched SP locomotives,19 SSW, and 2 CNW locomotives. It shows 1 SD40T-2 still in D&RGW colors but this locomotive is off the roster and has been donated to the Colorado railroad museum and is sitting on a spur on Coors property.

I read this hoping it wasn't 5371. But, looking at the current pic on the Ogden Stations website, it no longer shows 5371 sitting amongst the group preserved there.
For a couple years now I've been saying I need to go visit it. But it looks like I've missed out on seeing it there just like I missed its last days in Helper in 2008. Guess I'm 0 for 2. :(
Hopefully it will be preserved properly in Colorado.
Here's a shot of the 177 at Fleta, CA from 4/21/2011. It was the second unit on the CSKTN (Coal; Skyline, UT to Trona, CA). Still looks pretty good with the exception of the yellow side stripe.

At last count I believe there are still 10-12 unpatched SP AC4400s still out there, although I believe they all have yellow side stripes now. Here's a few shots of the SP 319 at Fleta from 3/30/2011. Soon after I got there a crew arrived and took the power set out to Trona to pick up the OTNLB potash train.

SP 199 was at North Yard (ex-DRGW) in Denver, CO yesterday, June 10.
