Some old school sounds. SD45-2.......... this is a nice change from all of the GEVO and SD&70ace out there. Got happy today, found this while doing some research on a SD45-2 santa fe HO scale genisis Athearn locomotive I ordered. The one with the wrong road numbers on it, so they have included a special decal kit with it. Hope the sound is as good as my other DCC sound equiped engines. The older Athearn's are not that good sound wise, but I have four new SD70ace's BNSF and KCS that sound great ect for the horn. Anyway I have started to appreciate Western RRing more now. I dig on SF and SP WP and that old school line up of 5 engines up front and all of the helpers. I am glad I grew up riding engines with my dad and uncels on Conrail and Chessie system. My fav was the SD50's on coal. Back in the day I even go to man the controls. Long time ago but still was fun. Very Diff now days. After 9-11 it has been hard on us rail fans. My son is leavin for Afhganastan in months for combat. Strange becuse I was in the military during the First gulf war. And please if anyone wants to tell me this would be better on a model RR forum then dont waste my time..... I am not on here to make friends. I enjoy the forum......................... God Bless all
And God bless your son and may he come home safe! And if he's like the men I served with long ago he's going just where he wants to be. Don't know his branch of service but this old Marine says "Semper Fi!" to him!
