Ever since the forums changed recently, why is it that after posting a reply, you are not taken automatically back to that thread, Hmmmmm?

It's a real pain in the butt!

I agree with you on this one, but other people have said they like it this way.

I also liked that the old forum automatically signed you up for e-mail replies when you posted to a thread, but other people complained about that and wanted it off by default.

The forum can't please everyone, so they just use their own judgment.

Not being taken back to your post is one thing....not being taken back to the forum index is another.  Why must we be taken to a intermediate screen when making a 'REPLY', but taken to back to our post when making a 'quick reply'.   The logic is illogical.

I'm replying to Jim's question..sorry, I don't get into this forum often. Embarrassed

I have no idea why this is, and I agree that it is a pain where the sun don't shine.  The new software is just not very good in my opinion, and makes my life as a mod very difficult.  There are other changes to our moderator tools, too, but we'll let that go...'nuff said.

As a regular user, a serious matter is that one can no longer edit a post one makes in the "Start a Conversation" section, what used to be called Personal Message.  We gotta be extra careful out there.

Maybe you can get a note through to Kalmbach thanking them for screwing up all of the forums.

If it ain't broke, don't fix it.

The one thing I have noticed about the myriad of Forums I participate in.....

All those that use the 'phpBB' form of Forum software .... just flat out work.  No drama, no unexpected actions, no quirks....THEY JUST WORK.

Why do so many outfits have to think their Forums have to reinvent the wheel?
