In looks like BNSF still has SD9s on the property, even though they don't look active, judging by this pic. The windows on this high-hood SD9 are boarded up and it's still numbered BNSF #6125, even though there's a GEVO with that number.

They still have some active running around. That one probably met its end. I got to run one as a goat for the service track one night. I loved it my very own 57 Chevy!!! I also got to see the SD-9-3.Very neat to see these old girls still working.
Yes we are on time but this is yesterdays train

The one in your photo, #6125 has been renumbered to #1730. The former #6100 series SD9-3s have been renumbered in the 1710 to 1747 series. The following info is from "The Diesel Shop":
SD9s renumbering from 6100s to 1700s (1704-1747). :
New # Old # New # Old # 1710 6100 1735 6115 1711 6135 1736 6133 1714 6104 1740 6102 1716 6119 1743 6105 1717 6120 1746 6121 1718 6123 1747 6122 1719 6127 1720 6128 1721 6101 1722 6136 1723 6138 1725 6144 1730 6125 1731 6126 1732 6132 1733 6106

But do any of the active units still have 567s? I was under the impression that they all had 645 power assemblies and were heavily remanufactured?

oltmanndcarnej1But do any of the active units still have 567s? I was under the impression that they all had 645 power assemblies and were heavily remanufactured? Doubt it. Conrail and others pretty much shoved 645E power assemblies into all the 567C and newer locomotives starting in the early 80s every time they came to the backshop for work. Suspect the other class 1s did, too.
BNSF may be a different case as they inherited a "legacy" fleet of ATSF EMD's(GPs mostly) that still had 567s(though had been extensively rebuilt). The GP35s that BNSF is remanufacturing into "GP38-3s" did not have 645 components previously, IINM neither do the remaining GP7/9s...
