It seems to me that a more interesting aspect of your photo would be the pivoting bridge in the background, not the locomotive.  Just an opinion.

I have to agree with doghouse. The bridge is more interesting. But it still is a good Pic.

Here's a better view of the bridge I took a couple years ago.  These pivot bridges are a dime a dozen here on the Eastern Shore...  Conrail Blue, however, is disappearing faster than the ozone layer...

I don't get it?

What's to "get?"  About 10 years ago all my modeling efforts and most of my railfanning centered around early to mid Conrail.  I love the patchwork of paint-outs, the down and dirty style of railroading, and big countryside of midstate PA.  But I also had a soft spot for the Western Maryland.

Over time, it became apparent that in the space I had available, I could do more justice to the WM, so that became my road of choice.  Where I live, though, is near some interesting former CR lines, which I still enjoy fanning.  Hence, despite my outward appearance of being all things WM, I still like it when I see some Conrail blue on the rails.

Yes I miss Big Blue, I miss the fact that Conrail crews were more friendly then these NS guys are. I remember when I could get a cab ride, all I would have to do was show up and I would be invited. Those were the days.
