marker lights on CN ES44's
Posted by THayman on Wednesday, December 12, 2007 3:08 PM

I just noticed in looking at some photos that some of the CN ES44DC's do not have the red marker lights on the nose hood, CN 2262 for example. Does anyone know which order series' did and didn't have the marker lights?

ok, while it may seem kind of stupid to reply to my own post, I have come to a new bit of knowledge since I posted this, and it may clear some things up for some other people...

It would seem that the marker lights were put on all of the DPU equipped ES44's, as is being done with the DPU equipped SD70M-2's.

So any ES44's with DPU have markers, the rest don't. Well, you learn something every day...

Actually CN's new GEVO's also have the marker light, they are just in a different spot. Look above the conductor's side ditchlight on the front and above the engineer's side ditchlight on the rear. http://www.rrpicturearchives.net/showPicture.aspx?id=920190
