NS hump sets, slugs and mother units
Posted by ShaunCN on Sunday, November 11, 2007 9:49 PM

Hi. I'm lookign for any information on NS's fleet of slugs and mother units that power them. I see there are a number of different 4 and six axle slugs, some former conrail, i also saw a former "trainmaster" convereted into a slug as well, I think the mother unit for this was a SD40. What about the other slugs, what runs with them? How are the slugs connected to the mother unit (standard MU cables?) As you can see i am full of questions.

Thanks for getting me started into the understanding of the NS slugs and mother units (seems rather diverse and interesting)

derailment? what derailment? All reports of derailments are lies. Their are no derailments within a hundreed miles of here.
