FRA High Speed Turbine Engine---Where is it?
Posted by Thomas Tancula on Saturday, September 22, 2007 9:07 AM

Does any one know what happened to the FRA high speed turbine driven locomotive that Bombardier Transportation  built?   Where is it, what is it doing, does the FRA still own it, and what does the future hold for the locomotive?

The engine has found it's way to the MMA , it not known how the unit ended up here . The FRA was not available for comment at this time . D. Monahan of Derby was quoted , saying "the turbine locomotive is the logical completion of the MMA fleet " Monahan believes that it will perform valuble service on the Houlton branch and will be a star in it's own right. It is hoped that the locomotive will be ready for service prior to the Ididerod race this year and will provide valuble service for this event.
