I think they're playing for melodrama.

Trains, trains, wonderful trains.  The more you get, the more you toot!  Big Smile

As Chris “Boomer” Berman used to say when announcing highlights of an NFL team doing the two-minute drill to try to win the game, “Tick TICK, tick TICK, tick TICK!”

Can we spike the ball to stop the clock?

I am beginning to think it will have a fire, and enough steam pressure to blow the whistle and keep the cylinders lubricated, and it will be pushed sedately along by the E9s at 25 mph to break in the bearings. At least it would look like a steam helper on the City of San Francisco. Gosh, I hope I am completely wrong.

I've said it before, and I'll say it again...

It'll be there if the steam team has to pick it up can carry it.

By the way, anyone see Tom Danneman's Photo-shopped al la  UP 119 SD70ACe on pages 40-41 in the May issue of "Trains?"  Simply gorgeous!

UP's got enough time to knock one of those off if they want!

One would think there would be some test running happening fairly soon.

Ya think?  Wink  Wonder why we're not hearing about that?

2.5 weeks to go until 4014 departs for Ogden. One would think there would be some test running happening fairly soon. Hopefully it won’t be getting pushed to Ogden by an internal combustion unit-fingers are crossed. Although just having it at Ogden under enough just enough steam to touch pilots will be a major accomplishment to be celebrated. The fact that we will have a live Big Boy is still hard to believe. Thank you UP!

I just checked the site.  If you wanted seats in the dome, you're too late.  They're sold out.  A limited quantity of coach seats are still available.

I am just hoping it gets there on its own power.

I'm sure there will be many who complain about the prices.

I'm kind of a free market guy.  If they can get these prices and sell the tickets, more power to them.

Reminds me of opening day at the new yankee stadium where the cheap seats cost a bundle.

Some of the conventions I go to (or wish to this year, hopefully) have VIP tickets that cost several thousands of dollars (normal memberships are $50-100).

They usually sell out of the VIP tickets pretty quick.

It's been fun.  But it isn't much fun anymore.   Signing off for now.

OK, I think I'll wait for the Kalmbach video, which I'm sure will be first rate.

The ticket prices are just a little too rich for my blood.  Surprise
