Holeee Mackinaw Jones .. looks who's back. I was worried sick.
Firelock76There seem to have been two others, but the print on the blasted map's so small I can't make out who they were!
More than two by 1927 (including an electric line crossing at grade): see the Fostoria track map in the article gmpullman posted.
Ihad no idea that was a NYC Tower have to look for the logo next time I am there.
I went deep into the archives here at the "Fortress Firelock" and...
The New York Central did indeed go through Fostoria, and so did the Baltimore and Ohio, at least according to the reprint of a late 19th-early-20th Century NYC map in one of my books. Matter of fact, the NYC and the B&O crossed each other.

As a matter of fact, scroll down through that "Railfan Guide" and there's some aerial photos of the abandoned NYC Jackson St. tower and you can see the "ghost" (for lack of a better term) of the old NYC trackage next to it.
nycstlrrThe NYC tower is still standing in Fostoria.
That tower is historically significant in that it housed the first CTC installation in the U.S.
