My train video went viral!
Posted by Ray Dunakin on Wednesday, December 27, 2017 9:07 PM

Last week I discovered that one of my oldest videos, posted in 2009, has apparently "gone viral". It had over 240,000 views at that time, far more than any of my other videos. It's currently nearing 450,000 views.

It's only 640 x 480 resolution, and shows a low-angle view of Nevada Northern's steam locomotive #93 coming out of a tunnel. The sound is the best part -- you can almost feel the power as it chugs through the tunnel and past the camera.

I haven't "monetized" any of my videos, so I'm not making money on this. (I'm not fond of ads, and I wouldn't want my videos being used to advertise products or causes that I oppose.)  It's just exciting to see it become so popular.

Alantrains
if you right click on the link below the youtube window it works just fine.

After right-clicking, you have to click on "Open link in new window" to get the video to work.

Very nice video Ray!!

Let me see if this works?

{seems to Yes}

Still, I like to go to the YouTube site to see it full screen.

Ah, those large scale models do convey the feeling of mass and motion so much better than our (my) small scale ones. Nice work!  Dan

No surprise it went viral, you can't beat a steam engine when it comes to "cool!"

Nice work!
