I am looking forward to having another wonderfully restored and operating Steam Locomotive in my neck of the woods
When buying a home, we had considered a place in Nehalem about 20-30 minutes from the OCSRR, that would have neccesitated a job change, which in view of how things went, may not have been a bad thing.
We ended up buying om Mt. Hood, so volunteering at the OCSRR would now be 3 1/2 hours each way compared to 30 minutes , making that at bit more inconvenient. My Sister-in-Law and her Husband still live down there, and we go as often as we can, so I may have to take some time out of Fishing and Crabbing to see the locomotive when it does finally get there.
I am also really looking forward to seeing the "Skookum" when the restoration is completed on it. Some how the Skookum's move to Garibaldi snuck by me, and it was a very pleasant surprise two years ago, when riding the OCS, I took a look in the enginehouse, and saw her in there. I had heard of the Skookum, and a club member(Columbia Gorge Model Railroad Club) has a model of her, I had no idea she was in Garibaldi
