Los Angeles, a city of rapid advancement and original improvement, has produced one institution toward which its citizens have cause to point the finger of pride. Reference is made to the “Angels’ Flight.” The Angels’ Flight, as it has been christened by its originator, owner and proprietor, Col. J.W. Eddy, consists of a most perfectly equipped little cable railway up the steps of Olive Heights above the Third street tunnel and a beautiful little park, from which ascent is made to the tower by means of the flight proper. When one stands upon this tower the highest point within the city limits is gained, and a view, with the bustling city in the foreground, stately mountain scenery on the one hand and the broad Pacific on the other, cannot be excelled for interest and grandeur. Nothing can surpass a trip on the Angels’ Flight on a clear day, unless, perhaps, it is a visit in the evening, when to look down into the lighted city is like looking into some fabulous jewel-casket. At the top of the tower binoculars are at the disposal of visitors, as is also the camera obscura. This latter was perfected by Mr. Roy Jones of Santa Monica, who has devoted leisure time and much money to cameras obscura, and who is authority for the statement that the one at the Angels’ Flight is the most perfect in existence. The residents of the city and tourists alike are delighted with a visit to the Angels’ Flight, and people who live on the hill regard Col. Eddy as a public benefactor, not only for making the access to their abodes easy and a pleasure, but also for beautifying the neighborhood. In recognition of what Mr. Eddy has done the city has named the park at the top of the heights, which Mr. Eddy has beautified, “Eddy Park.”
The safety of the trip is absolute. No accident has as yet occurred; in fact, an accident is physically impossible. The working cable is capable of bearing a strain ten times greater than that imposed upon it, and as if that is not sufficient, an idle cable is carried, which comes into use should the other give way. Besides this, safety clutches, brakes and automatic contrivances to shut off the power render any mishap out of the question. The Angels’ Flight is becoming more and more popular and Col. Eddy is justly reaping a financial benefit from his inventive genius and enterprise.

Niagara Junction still Electric..Thank You.
