A few more:
Trains, trains, wonderful trains. The more you get, the more you toot!
Penny, there's your next painting, and the market where you're going to sell the copies...
Do a view of the T1, either in shop or restored and out on the road, with that chalked-in "Made in Reading PA" on the front end. Then provide the restoring agency with copies for their PR and fundraising efforts...
Awesome pictures, be so cool to have two operational t -1. Imagine, the rebirth of a t -1 double header.
2100 today:
Looks to be in great condition!
It would take a big bow, when is his next birthday btw.
ROBERT WILLISON So are their any updates on the 2102? On August 28,2016, I rode the Blue Mountain and Northern RDC. An employee of the ailroad on his day off was a passenger next to me. The same question came upas we passed the engine house where the 2102 work is in progress. He stated that CEO Andy Muller would like this completed for his next birthday. That is the goal. Question is; Can that be done?

Nice, I saw the 2101 as atf in Cleveland when she brought the American freedom to Cleveland.
I m going to the open house if the mid west historical society open house in the former b&0 round house on west third. Hope to see both the 4070 and 2100. I'll get some pictures too.
Robert, I went to the B&O RR Museum two weeks ago and got numerous photos of sister(brother) 2101 dressed as AFT 1. Unfortunately I haven't posted enough times to be allowed to post any pictures. The American Freedom Train is sandwiched tightly between two other trains and I was unable to get more than a couple of decent photos and with but 45 minutes to closing I got what I could. There are YouTube videos and also on the B&O RR Museum's website, also check Google Earth for 915 W. Pratt St. Baltimore,Md. the AFT 1(2101) is in the group of trains to the right of the Roundhouse about halway back.
Thanks man, great pics, what can I say.
2102 (with apologies to Chris Berman of ESPN) - ramblin', scramblin', gamblin'...
And finally, one of 2102's "Brothers In Arms" bringing revenue to the bottom line with a crystal clear stack...
In the May issue of "Railpace" magazine there's a photo of 2102 in the Reading and Northern's Port Clinton shop. Boiler jacket is off, old insulation is off, cab is off, tender is off, and the superheaters have been removed. Inspection and evaluation are underway. There's a thin film of rust on the exposed surfaces but from what I can tell from the picture (for what it's worth) it doesn't look to be in bad shape at all. I think worse have been brought back to life.
Photo on page 17. Picked the issue up at a train show last week, "Railpace" is a little tough to get around here.
Great picture. Wouldn't be something to see two t-1 double heading again.
Not too much longer, and won't it be something!
Seems like we been waiting two decades for her return. I have no doubts in her current owners to restore her to her former glory. I been following her since my very first steam trip in April of 1971 on the old ac&y. Just interested in on any news her progress. if not all we can do wait and hope for a full recovery.
Well, as I said in the thread concerning the restoration of the UP's Big Boy when I hear of someone undertaking a restoration project I say "Great! Best of luck to them!" and then relegate it to the back of my mind rather than obsess about it. I've got other things to worry about.
I will say this, the Reading and Northern is a first-class outfit with first-class people. If they say they're going to bring 2102 back to life then come hell or high water they're going to do it, unless it's so far gone (which I find hard to believe, in the past they used it but didn't abuse it) it's just not possible.
I always knew in the back of my mind they'd bring it back sooner or later. Trust me, with certain things patience is a virtue.
Target date for return to service is mid-2017.
Curiosity kills the cat I suppose.
You might find something on the Reading and Northern website, but if not, then "it'll be ready when it's ready."
