The Philadelphia Chapter NRHS "Farewell to the Silverliners" fantrip on SEPTA, scheduled for this coming Saturday Sept. 24th, has been cancelled due to inadequate ticket sales.
Debate and discuss.
A shame. I always liked the IIs and IIIs better than the IVs. One more time down the NEC at 100 mph would have been fun.

Sorry to hear about the cancellation, you would think that with the large number of PRRT&HS members in the Philly Chapter that their support would have resulted in adequate ticket sales. The NKP 765 that is currently on a visit to the Cuyahoga Valley RR in Ohio had to cancel two runs and in addition combine the wine tasting run with the dinner train, all due to a lack of tickets sales.
This economy and the prices charged for such rail activities are clashing, people simply cannot afford to spend money on things that are non-essential in their lives. The holiday season(s) are around the corner, financial and job uncertainty makes for some tough decisions. I just hope it does not have a trickle effect in the future of restoration activities or such future farewell excursions, but get real, it will and such will deminish in time. Look how many railroad museums are feeling the crunch.
Any hope for a reschedule?
