Southwest Chief How are they going to paint up the caboose? Ce-X style Indian Red, or the earlier Mineral Brown scheme? Probably hard to back date it to the pre-Ce rebuild look.

Probably hard to back date it to the pre-Ce rebuild look.
We are repainting it in Mineral Brown, and try to be as accurate as possible with restoration.
We do have some photos of that model caboose from when they were built in 1949. We are also very lucky to have a Santa Fe expert on our "team".

We have a new caboose now if'n y'all want to come down and see it. Right now it's being cosmetically restored on the outside (as of 10/19) so I won't be getting a photoshoot in until the final coat of paint and lettering go on.

Wonderful photos! I especially like the snowy "Christmas Card" shot. Thanx so much for posting!
Absolutely great photos of an awesome steam engine. It is so sad that more of these beasts were not preserved instead of being cut up for scrap. Thanks for sharing.

She looks great. Depot is looking really nice as well.
Thanks for posting the photos.
Made the trip downtown to get some sunrise shots of her. The paint is about 2 years old, new signs and an operable whistle. (Weekends only.)
