The next phase of the gawdawful highway project, MM400 to MM 413 (Hugo - South)...setting the new property corners (not the construction surveying); will go back and set the witness posts after the fences are moved and construction begins. South side fence is already moved.

Thanks, M.C.

The roundhouse is a great piece of U.P. heritage and worth a look for those interested in r.r. history.  I just wish it wasn't so far off the beaten path. Are you working on the U.P. or that gawd-awful highway project?

Being that I'm working between Hugo & Boyero for 10 days straight and deal with the locals, I asked.

The roundhouse project is sputtering along with consistent funding of town and grant monie$ being thhe problem.

-Brick exterior cleaned.

-Roof is rebuilt, resealed and repaired according to original plan.

-Collapsing wall on the back of the roundhouse is repaired.

- They want to seal the building from the elements (and the birds) by fall, eventually replacing the windows and doors as close to original. There are  enough surviving original pieces to create a pattern.

I stopped at Hugo, CO last week and it seems the restoration on the U.P roundhouse has stalled.  Anyone know the status of this project?
