The maroon one was sold to the 261 group and has run with that engine ever since. 611's original one was sold to the 587 group. Are you sure it has been scrapped? Last I heard the museum still had it in a building somewhere. Shame if it is gone.

The VMT still has one of the N&W AUX's that went with 1218. The one in the N&W red and gold stripe was sold to another museum and scrapped. I don't know if the maroon one is still around, I haven't heard anything on it.

N&W Aux. tenders?

Hi all.

So I got to thinking about the 611 and the 1218 and how they are in the Roanoke museum in VA, but I wondered what happened to the aux. tenders that they used to use on excursion trips back in the 80s and 90s.  Were they scrapped, did they make it to a museum somewhere too, or are they in a yard gathering weeds in some abandoned part of a siding somewhere?

Any pictures perhaps?
