NYC called their 4-8-2's Mohawks and ordered some specifically for passenger service and others for fast freight. In passenger service they pulled the heavier secondary trains, mail and express, etc. They also had Berkshires, both the first and last ever built. I believe a current or an upcoming issue of Trains ot Classic Trains is supposed to have an article on the A2a's built for NYC subsidiary P&LE in 1948. Had steam continued, these may be what it would have looked like.
