OK here it goes, what a pain to post photos on this site.

Houston and Texas Central (Caboose, though not really, suspect it is ex-Mopac from porthole windows in end doors). I believe the logo and paint job is authentic to H&TC though. Line lineage is H&TC --> T&NO --> SP.
OK so here is a view of the former SP rail line still in place through most of Allen but now owned by DART for DART light rail expansion North. It is out of service officially but not abandoned. It used to be double track through Allen past the Depot hence the space between the track and depot. Also the depot is an interpretive recreation of the former passenger station that burned down in the 1950's or 1960's. The Texas Electric Interurban Station is still standing in Allen but is a Block West of this location on Butler St. The restored H&TC Passenger STation is really nice inside as it was really built post 2000 painted in SP colors of yellow and brown. Has a nice kitchen, restrooms, great meeting area, hardwood floors, etc.

It's restorable which I am not sure the City knew when it bought it. I am a little disappointed they did not go for original H&TC because there was an ex-H&TC engine on static display somewhere in one of the Eastern Gulf States that was for sale but the City never acted on it.............so lost that opportunity.
BTW, the restored pilot is wood not steel, they got some local carpenter to build that and he did an outstanding job as it looks like steel.
I am curious on the lineage of the Caboose? Is MoPac a good guess? What other railroads had small porthole windows for the end doors of the caboose.
