How Sweet It Is!

I was doing some exploring on the YouTube and found this 11 minute video of recently restored U.S. Sugar's Pacific 148.  Cool!  It sparkles like a diamond!

But not a black diamond, it's oil-fired.

And here's the locomotive's story.

Thanks for that Ornhoo!  "The Jackie Gleason Show" was a Saturday night ritual for us when I was growing up.  It was good seeing Frank Fontaine again too!

"From Miami Beach, the sun and fun capital of the world, it's The Jackie Gleason Show!"

Whose E units were those?  And where was that little stretch of single track with white ballast but a single-note horn?

It doesn't matter where, it doesn't matter when, South Rampart Street Parade always makes me smile -- it was my father's favorite piece of Dixie and it's now mine.

The units that were seen at the opening of the Jackie Gleason clip were SAL units - it would appear that the train operated PRR - Washington - RF&P - Richmond - SAL to Miami.

Never too old to have a happy childhood!
