Grian, thanks for that info. While I'm a big WM fan and really enjoy the WMSR and their operation, including the GP-30's, I can't say I find the 501 in Circus colors very appealing.
I feel for the railroad losing the 734 and specially all the issues that have faced the 1309 so if this draws folks with money for tickets then I'm all for it. No matter what pulls their trains the ride is a grand thing indeed!

I'm sure it'll work for them. If what I've read is true a lot of the people riding tourist trains now really don't care what pulls the train, considering many, if not most of them, don't have any memories of mainline steam.
Of course, the ride'll be even better when 1309's pulling it!
Firelock your probably right. Plus the diesel in it's new paint job will draw some rail fans as well.
