Is the branch getting weed overgrown, or are they doing some maintenance?

I have ridden a few trains but the best was standing in the back of a passenger car on the Mt Washington cog railway pushed to the top of the mountain, 6,280 feet by a little 1937 steamer. I could feel the heat from the smokebox and put my arm out the window and covered with soot in about twenty seconds.

A nine step turnout near the top is quite something.

Trails. I ride my bicycle nearly every day on local rail trails in MA where I live and sometimes in CT.

If you ever fall over in public, pick yourself up and say “sorry it’s been a while since I inhabited a body.” And just walk away.

Just not the same with those diesel things they use now (except for the few steam trips).   Honestly, the whole atmosphere of the place changed.  Just seems so touristy-disneyesque now.  Esp. with the moron running around taking photos to try to sell to you.  I hate that business practice with a passion.

Once a month a hyrailer truck goes thru and clears brush and trees. Grade Crossing have been repaired and updated. This according to the Metro-North MOW Crew I net in Fishkill NY at the Mobil there/

Glad to hear it gets at least nominal maintenance.  MetroNorth has asked for proposals from the public on uses for the line.
