Anything is restorable given enough time and cash. But in any case, the nose looks in good shape and could be used to repair some Funit that needs it.
I wonder how it got in his yard? I'd plant morning glories all over it and leave it where it is, but that's just me.
I'd re-sheet metal the exterior, insulate the interior and make it "liveable", and use it as a home for a nice model railroad!

Too bad it's in the hands of someone who isn't interested in it. Forget making it a home for a model railroad... Add utilities and live in it! How hard could it be? The cab area would be the dining/entertainment area, and the rest would make one great living space. Firelock76 is right though, there must be a model railroad (or two) inside. Maybe a garden railroad circling around.
I think some people are overestimating how much room is actually in one of those.

This is the last if not only Alaskan railroad f unit left that has not been restored. There is allot of potential. THIS THING DESERVES TO RUN AGAIN. Not a mobile home. Not a model railroad. Not saying those are bad idea,s. But the only other Alaska railroads f-7 unit,s to survive. Are in Arizona. And they have 3. Witch run. Think how cool if she was restored to operation in the classic color,s from the railroad.

The photos seem to show an empry shell, with a lot of missing panels.
It's empty, as in nothing inside, no wheel sets under it either.
I agree with an earlier post: remove the builder plate, slide a new F unit in place, replace the builder plate, and VOILA!
