Hi, I am involved with a small railroad museum. We have a 1929 wooden caboose from the Erie RR. The caboose has Bettendorf trucks. One end of the side frame is marked ERIE (the owner of the caboose). The other end of the side frame has ARA-29. Assuming the "29" is the year built, what does the "ARA" stand for? Thanks for any info anyone can provide.
If my memory is right, ARA was the American Railway Association, a predecessor of the AAR.
