Restoration Work continues at the East Broad Top
Posted by TomDiehl on Monday, June 24, 2013 6:12 PM

As you may have heard, the East Broad Top Railroad in Pennsylvania is not running excursions for a second season. However, the Friends of the East Broad Top is continuing their restoration efforts in anticipation of th reopening. Rumors, of course, are rampant, but no solid information on when the tourist operations will resume.

Some photos of this year's work to pique your interest:

You should still be able to view this album, even if you're not on Facebook. If not, let me know.

That's too bad, this Canadian is going to be in Pennsylvania next week, but I'll have to settle with visiting the museum in Strasburg instead! Do you thing it might be ready later this summer?

Probably not. It's a matter of ownership transfer that kept it closed the last two years.

I'll say this, they are getting a LOT of much needed work done!

The Lehigh Valley Railroad, the Route of the Black Diamond Express, John Wilkes and Maple Leaf.

Updated from the September work session, same link.

This will be the last entry for this year. October is our Fall Reunion, and the last time I make it to the EBT until next spring. Enjoy.
