All,
Last month I spent 9 days at the Nevada Northern Railway for their winter steam spectacular excursions; follow the above link to my photos from the event.
Like Orbisonia or Chama, Ely is well off the beaten path - an adventure just to get there. But it’s a step into to the past, a living museum frozen (on this trip literally) in time. A must see for any steam fan, on my short list to return again.
There’s a lot to view in this gallery; the more you look the more you see…
Enjoy,
Matthew
Great photos Matthew, thank you for sharing. I will make it out there one of these days.

Thanks for sharing! They are beautifull photos!
Wow, what type of camera did you use? Thank you for sharing.
All these photos were taken with a Canon 5D MkIII and 5D MkII.
Thanks all,
Matthew,
What an amazing post!! Your photographs are truly spectacular. You have a wonderful eye for seeing things the rest of us might easily pass by without noticing. Your camera brand/model is a very capable instrument, but these photos are the work of a skilled crafts person. Thanks so much for sharing. (And enduring -8 F while you were there).
